Green Tourism

The Green Tourism Business Scheme is the leading Sustainable Tourism Certification programme of its kind in the world with more than 2,400 members across the UK and Ireland. Developed in 1997, it now covers every region of the UK & Ireland with members stretching from the south-west of England to the Highlands of Scotland.

Any business wishing to join the scheme must make commitments to sustainable practices in areas such as energy, water efficiency, waste management and biodiversity. Businesses wishing to join are assessed by a grading advisor after which they can be awarded bronze, silver or gold awards depending on scoring.

Kelvin Hall was awarded a Gold standard Green Tourism Award in April 2018, receiving the top award following on from its first audit.

Kelvin Hall is also the recipient of a Cycle Friendly Employer Award from Cycling Scotland and offers regular bike maintenance workshops to staff.
